I have personally used AMSOIL motor oils since the early 1980’s. I was a Mobil 1 user just prior to that because it was the only synthetic motor oil I knew about. Mobil 1 was heavily advertised in newspapers (no internet back then!) and only sold at Mobil service stations. I discovered the superiority of AMSOIL through research and stopped using Mobil 1. AMSOIL was the 1st synthetic oil approved for motor vehicle use by the American Petroleum Institute, who still determines certification for all motor oils.

It’s almost 36 years from the start of production of AMSOIL 10W-40 synthetic motor oil. The company is still owned and operated by Mr. A. J. “Al” Amatuzio, formerly a Lieutenant Colonel jet fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. His experience with jet engines is what sparked his idea for also using synthetic oil for internal combustion engines.

Lowering quality standards to save on costs of ingredients is NOT an option with AMSOIL. You may have to pay a little more, but that is more than offset by the quality and extended service you will receive from using any of the products of AMSOIL INC.
